After Midnight of Astral (AI) - Large Saddle Pony, 13.3hh

To be campaigned under saddle with the stud by joint owner Laura Shaw and family.

Breeding:

A trip by Em and Stu to Sydney February 2008 resulted in the stud purchasing the 13.3hh pony After Midnight of Astral (AI).  We were very lucky given the number of enquiries as we were very keen to purchase this mare for our future breeding program.  Thank-you Edwina for entrusting your precious mare to us.

After Midnight of Astral (AI) has a fabulous dam line.  It is a direct line to the foundation riding pony broodmare Zephyrin Easter Bonnet (IMP).  Reported in the Australian Riding Pony Journal that she was sourced in the UK for the Strapp Family by Malcolm Ansell , who produced her under saddle at the 1979 Sydney Royal.  She was awarded Champion saddle pony not exceeding 14hh - the first imported riding pony to win a major event anywhere in Australia.  She later went on to become a valuable broodmare.

After Midnight of Astral (AI) is sired by Deanhill Stud's resident stallion Sandbourne Royal Ensign (IMP) the sire of our beautiful 2007 foal Deeplake Royal Symphony (pictured right).

This mare was specifically purchased for the future of our breeding program to one day become a broodmare along side Deeplake Royal Symphony.  Her temperament and saddle ability quickly proved evident on the trip up North leading to much excitement as we viewed an incredible extended trot and decided she should be given the opportunity to further her saddle career.   She is owned together with the Arnold-Shaw Family to have a saddle career with Laura Shaw before returning to the stud as a future broodmare.

We hope After Midnight of Astral (AI) and Deeplake Royal Symphony  will play a major part of the future breeding direction for our small stud.  We wish Laura much success with her saddle career.

*  2007 Melbourne Summer Royal 1st Australian Pony Filly class & Reserve Champion Australian Pony Mare/Filly and 2nd in her 3rd generation class.

* Registered Sec B Riding Pony, Part Welsh, Arabian Pony, Australian Pony and 3rd Generation Australian Pony.

* Hollywood (stable name) is out of our fabulous recently deceased mare Fairlightacres Anastasia who is the dam of a current Qld Owner Rider Small Pony, former winner of novice and open saddle class at Sydney Royal and the dam of Fairlightacres Fascination who was awarded Champion Riding pony Show Hunter Mare/Filly 2008 Barastoc Horse of The Year Show. 

* Green broken and shown as a 2 y/o by Arnold-Shaw Family.
