News

English and Em have been accepted for all classes for Melbourne Royal 2008.  We are now really looking forward to the show.

In the stables this week is our beautiful filly Deeplake Royal Symphony.......wow.....!!.  She has grown into one elegant lady.  She loves to be brushed and has the sweetest temperament.  Updated pics to come in the next few weeks.  We really enjoy having this lady around.

Another amazing day for Deeplake Fascination awarded Champion Led Hunter Pony and then Supreme Led Show Hunter of the show! Champion Ridden Newcomer Hunter, Reserve Champion Open Ridden Hunter to Laura Thomas's lovely hack.  Deeplake Imagination awarded Supreme Led Open breed!  More detail to follow.

New arrival into the stables - Deeplake Rock 'n' Robin alias 'Rocky'

His dam (an 11.3hh black Welsh B mare) won her Riding pony class at both Adelaide & Melbourne Royal and she is a former Champion Small Saddle Pony at the Vic APSB Stud Book Show.  This fellow just floats across the ground and has the sweetest, kind, willing temperament.  Two of the 2008 Barastoc Newcomer Small Pony Finalists were out of his dam (one we recently exported to New Zealand).  Rocky is sired by our resident stallion Langtree Cavalier and will mature ~12.1hh.  We are very excited about this fellows future saddle career.

Pictured below this weekend recently clipped. When his coat comes through he will be a rich chestnut colour.

Fabulous news of a stunning colt foal arriving from Willowcroft Rose Cottage for Kim Giles.  We are told he is very pretty with four white socks.

New Home - Deeplake Silver Maiden

This weekend our gorgeous Deeplake Silver Maiden headed to a wonderful new home all clipped up and ready for the 08/09 show season.  She could not be luckier as she will join Deeplake Bridgette Bardot and she immediately had a new set of rugs to head home in.  She is a full sister to the very successful Langtree Carousel and Langtree Comic Caper both winners at Royal level.  We wish the Sharkey family success with the girls this season and look forward to supporting them out and about at the shows.

What a day for the stud!  Deeplake Fascination started the day well by winning her newcomer led hunter class, she then went on to Champion Newcomer Led Hunter Exhibit.  We were thrilled when her half brother Deeplake Imagination also went on to we awarded Champion Led Hunter Pony.  This was Fascination's first show since being awarded Champion Led Riding Pony Show Hunter Mare/Filly  at the Barastoc Horse of The Year Show 2008.

The day didn't finish for Fascination (Floss). She went on to be awarded Supreme Led Hunter Exhibit of the Show against a very very strong line up of hunter hack and galloways. The line up included the 2008 Barastoc Horse of The Year Led Supreme Champion Hunter and a 2008 Barastoc Saddle Hunter Champion.

The gorgeous 3 y/o then made her saddle debut winning her newcomer saddle class and then working amazingly to win Champion newcomer hunter <12.2hh.  Given the way Floss was coping with the day she then started in the Open Saddle Hunter class, winning it and going on to Champion Open Saddle Hunter <12.2hh.   We were all thrilled when she finished the day....at her first show under saddle (as a 3 y/o!) standing Supreme Open Ridden Show Hunter Saddle Exhibit of the Show!

Introducing - Deeplake Inspiration

Inspiration is a grey, rising two year old 3rd Generation Australian Pony filly.  The last filly from our recently deceased super mare Fairlightacres Anastasia. Unbelievable temperament.  Inspiration is sired by Fairlightacres Delano who we showed to Champion Australian Pony Gelding at the 2007 Melbourne Summer Royal before selling him broken in to NSW.  His dam is the former well known Barastoc Small Saddle Pony Fairlightacres Duchess.  Like most of Anastasias progeny, Inspiration is the spitting image of her sire. An exciting prospect for the future.

NEW SHETLAND! - FAIRLIGHT ACRES CARLY (alias Fairy)

Thank-you Peter Collins!: For sourcing back from South Australia specifically for us the gorgeous,  2 y/o black and white shetland 'Fairlightacres Carly'. A brilliant moving young shetland out of a lovely old mare.  Breeding: Colmaur Carlene x Fairfield Park Jerry.  Colmaur Stud sponsor the Supreme Shetland award at the Vic APSB Stud Book Show.  An exciting saddle prospect for the future.  We thank Peter for the support.

Our future galloway, Deeplake Royal Symphony is weaned and back out in the paddock.  We could not be happier with her.   She is a very exciting future saddle prospect indeed.

When temperament counts.....

Shown by the stud at 18 years of age to Champion Australian Pony broodmare at the Victorian APSB Stud Book Show and Reserve Champion at the National Australian Pony Feature Show to her full sister (also exhibited by the stud) Fairlight acres Aquila.  She was also shown in the same year for 1st in her class at The Melbourne Summer Royal Horse Show.

The stud has two fillies retained (Starlight and Inspiration) and a third filly bred by the stud will enter the show ring as a ridden newcomer show hunter this season with Nicole Reimer called Deeplake Fascination. 

Deeplake Starlight will commence her saddle career this season for the stud.  She has already won at Royal level.  Deeplake Imagination owned by Renee Kewish is also set to make his newcomer saddle debut this season.  Full detail of her progeny to be updated.  Other progeny have won major awards at HOTY and Royal level. PONY PROFILE: DEEPLAKE FASCINATION NEWCOMER SMALL SHOW HUNTER PONY

Updated News: Congratulations to Fascinations sire Llanfairbryn Cadno Coch! A young Welsh sire with a big future.  Only three of his progeny have been shown but all for major wins....detail to be updated...

 Awarded Champion Riding Pony Show Hunter Filly/Mare and winner of her APSB class 2008 Barastoc Horse of The Year Show 2008 she is owned and shown by Nicole Reimer. 

This little filly is going to be a force in the small show hunter classes.  We look forward to her saddle career anticipated to commence 2008.  She is a purpose bred show hunter.

Her dam has been successful at Royal level and has produced open saddle winner's at Canberra & Sydney Royal and most recently Qld HOTY. Not to mention led breed success at Melb Summer Royal 2007 with winner and eventual reserve champion Deeplake Starlight.

Her dam's breeding is a direct line to well known Fairlightacres Stud's most successful breeding and stud foundation mare Green Valley Annette.

Breeding:

The first progeny by Fascination's sire to be shown (in South Australia) was awarded Supreme Welsh Foal at the 2007 APSB Foal Show. We are particularly excited about this as we previously owned this lovely Welsh A stallion and started him at stud. 

Fascination's sires dam was the 2001 WP&CSofA Senior Welsh Mountain Pony Mare/Stallion Barastoc Pony of the Year.   At the 2003 Victorian Welsh Feature Show she  was Champion Mare, Supreme Champion WMP and Best In-Hand Exhibit. At the 2004 Royal Melbourne Horse Show she was Champion Mare and at the 2004 Victorian All-Welsh she won the Dry Mare class - 3 wins at the 3 major Victorian shows for Welsh in the 2003/4 season.  Fascination sire is by the deceased amazingly bred Cardross Llewellyn Sire: Coed Coch Gwyndaf (imp)  Dam:Coed Coch Rhadol (imp) SOD: Coed Coch Barrog (Imp).  Incredible welsh bloodlines.
